1907 - Foundation
The Beginning of MCA-SL
The Missionary Church of Africa Sierra Leone was founded in 1907 by the Missionary Church Association of Indiana, United States of America. Pioneers David C. Rup and Driscol first settled along the Rokel River among the Temne in Tonkolili, while others moved far northeast and settled among the Kurankos in Yiffin. The mission began with evangelism, education, church planting, Bible translation, theological education, and building health centers and bridges in local communities.
1990 - Council Membership
Joining the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone
The Church became a member of the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) in 1990, strengthening our commitment to collaborative Christian ministry and community service across Sierra Leone. This membership has enabled us to participate in training, relief efforts, scholarship programs for youth empowerment, and agricultural support for women farmers.

Rev. Alhassan Paul Kargbo Elected President
Rev. Alhassan Paul Kargbo was elected as President of the Missionary Church of Africa Sierra Leone at the National Delegate Conference in March 2025 in MCA Church Old Railway Line Magburaka, Tonkolili District.
