Biography
Rev. Alhassan Paul Kargbo currently serves as the President of the Missionary Church of Africa Sierra Leone (MCA-SL), following his election at their National Delegate Conference in March 2025 in MCA Church Old Railway Line Magburaka, Northern part of Sierra Leone, Tonkolili District. Rev. Alhassan Paul Kargbo is happily married to Kumba Perry Kargbo with two sons Osman Paul Kargbo and Jeremiah Paul Kargbo.
Early Life and Education
Born in Magburaka in 1980, Alhassan Paul grew up in a family deeply committed to faith and community service. He earned his Bachelor of Theology (B.Th) from the Evangelical College of Theology (TECT) Jui Freetown Sierra Leone, Bachelor of Art in Social work and Christian Counseling. He later completed a Master of Ministry Degree (MA. Min) from T-Net International and Minnesota Graduate School of Theology USA, First Generation Sierra Leone. Rev. Paul has recently completed a four-year LLB program for a Bachelor of Laws degree at the Fourah Bay College University of Sierra Leone USL.
Professional Career
Before his election as president, Rev. Paul spent 15 years as Managing Director of Osnan and Sons (SL) Ltd. He oversees activities of the company and facilitated many programs of the company with other companies carrying similar purpose. He is an executive member at the Council of Churches in Sierra Leone CCSL, where he also served as a member of the programs committee. Rev. Paul is an executive member at the Evangelical Fellowship of Sierra Leone EFSL. Earlier career included roles with various faith-based organizations focused on poverty alleviation, and educational development in underserved communities throughout Freetown and other parts of the country.
Church Service
Rev. Paul's commitment to church service began early in life. He has served in various positions in the church including, local church secretary, pastor, District Evangelism Coordinator where he worked closely with youth ministries and was able to train many youths who are also serving as leaders in different capacity in the church. He was General Secretary for over ten years and currently the President, Missionary Church of Africa Sierra Leone MCA-SL.
Mission Leadership Philosophy
As mission president, Rev. Paul emphasizes holistic ministry that addresses both spiritual and practical needs. He has championed initiatives combining evangelism with community development, including literacy programs, theological training, and health education. His leadership style focuses on mentoring young missionaries, building sustainable local partnerships, and ensuring that mission work creates lasting positive impact in communities served.
Personal Life
President Paul and his wife Kumba Perry Kargbo have been married for 17 years and are the parents of two children. Kumba serves alongside her husband supporting the women's wing, coordinating women programs and occasional preach in their district programs to advance women's ministries. The Kargbo family, fondly called "the Jesus family" are known for their warm hospitality, having hosted countless family members missionaries, church members, and community leaders in their home throughout their years of service.
Vision and Current Priorities
Rev. Paul's vision for the Missionary Church of Africa centers on three priorities: Discipleship, strengthening administrative structures at all levels to effectively administer the church and strengthening indigenous church leadership, and expanding compassionate service initiatives.
